Marie Aurélie Lapierre

Postdoc Researcher

Biography

Welcome to my website! I am Marie Aurélie Lapierre, a postdoctoral researcher at Université Paris Dauphine-PSL (LEDa), under Laura Khoury's Junior Professor Chair. I recently obtained my PhD from Université Lumière Lyon 2 and GATE-LSE, under the supervision of Florence Goffette-Nagot. I was previously a Temporary Lecturer at CY Cergy Paris Université and THEMA.

As an applied economist in urban and labor economics, I am interested in understanding and exploring the inequalities that arise from the interaction of these two fields. My on-going projects focus on neighborhood effects in job search behaviors, wage compensation for housing costs, and the role of unaffordable housing in shaping disparities in labor market trajectories.

In continuity with this research agenda, my postdoctoral project explores structural transformations of urban territories, examining the impact of large retail store openings on local employment, urban morphology, and socio-economic outcomes in medium-sized French cities.
